About my Work in Vermont

Vermont is a small state with a lot of geographic spread — and finding a therapist who is actually available can mean a long wait, a long drive, or both. Teletherapy closes that gap entirely. I offer secure video therapy to adults throughout Vermont, from Burlington and Montpelier to the Northeast Kingdom and the Champlain Valley.

Vermont has a distinctive character: progressive values, deep community ties, and a strong ethic of independence. I work with clients across the state who are navigating real challenges — and who often come in having managed things on their own for a while before deciding to reach out. That makes sense, and there’s no judgment in it. What matters is that you’re here now.

The University of Vermont, Middlebury, and Vermont’s several other colleges bring a meaningful student population into a state that can feel quieter and more isolated than many students expect, particularly through the long winter months. Students navigating ADHD, anxiety, academic pressure, or identity questions often find that consistent individual therapy — available via telehealth, wherever you are — provides continuity that campus resources sometimes can’t.

Vermont has also navigated significant substance use challenges, particularly around opioids, and many clients come in carrying the weight of that — whether through their own experience or its impact on people they care about. I work with addiction and dual diagnosis from an integrated, non-judgmental perspective, treating the whole person rather than the substance use in isolation.

About Me

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with 21 years of experience, licensed in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Vermont, and New Hampshire, and practicing in Ohio and Minnesota through the Counseling Compact. I'm board certified in telemental health (BC-TMH), certified as an ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP), and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in Georgia — which means part of my work is training and overseeing other therapists.

What I care about more than any of that is whether you feel safe enough to be honest, and whether the work is actually useful to you.

I'm trained in a range of approaches — cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and EMDR. I think of those as tools rather than a method I run people through. Which ones we use depends on you and what you're working on. Some people want structure and something to practice between sessions. Others need to think out loud with someone who knows what to listen for. Often it's both, at different points.

What stays constant is that we go at your pace, you decide what we work on, and nothing happens because it was next in a sequence.
