Addiction & Dual Diagnosis Counseling for Adults

Addiction is rarely the whole story. For many adults, substance use is intertwined with depression, anxiety, trauma, or ADHD — a pattern known as dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorders. Treating only one side of the equation rarely leads to lasting recovery. Effective care means addressing both. If you have been told you drink too much, use substances to cope, or cycle between sobriety and relapse, you are not alone — and you are not without options. With over 21 years of clinical experience, I provide evidence-based counseling designed to help you understand the underlying drivers of your substance use and build sustainable strategies for long-term recovery.

What I Treat

My work is grounded in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — treatment modalities with strong empirical support for substance use disorders.

I am also trained in EMDR for clients whose addiction is rooted in unresolved trauma. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all program, I work collaboratively with each client to understand what is driving their use, what has and has not worked before, and what recovery actually looks like for their life.

I hold a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) designation and am a Certified Mental Health Forensic Examiner (CMHFE), bringing both clinical depth and professional rigor to every engagement. Sessions are conducted via HIPAA-compliant teletherapy, available to adults in Georgia, Florida, Vermont, South Carolina and New Hampshire.
