ADHD Therapy for Adults

Adults with ADHD are often among the most creative, driven, and perceptive people in the room — and also the most exhausted. The gap between how you want to show up and how you actually function day to day can be demoralizing, especially when you have spent years being told to just try harder.

ADHD is not a character flaw or a lack of willpower. It is a neurological difference that affects attention, executive function, emotional regulation, and time perception — and it responds well to targeted, evidence-based treatment. Whether you received a diagnosis years ago or are only now beginning to understand why things have always felt harder for you than for others, therapy can make a meaningful difference.

What I Treat

  • Adult ADHD — inattentive, hyperactive, and combined presentations

  • Executive function difficulties — planning, prioritizing, initiating, and completing tasks

  • Time blindness and chronic lateness

  • Emotional dysregulation and low frustration tolerance

  • Rejection sensitive dysphoria (RSD)

  • Hyperfocus and difficulty transitioning between tasks

  • Working memory challenges

  • ADHD and co-occurring anxiety or depression

  • Burnout from years of masking or overcompensating

  • Shame and self-criticism related to ADHD symptoms

My Approach to ADHD

My work with ADHD goes beyond time management tips and productivity hacks. I take a whole-person approach that addresses the emotional and psychological dimensions of living with ADHD — not just the behavioral ones.

Clinically, I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) adapted for ADHD, which has strong research support for improving executive function, reducing avoidance, and reshaping the negative self-beliefs that accumulate over a lifetime of struggling. I also use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for emotional regulation and distress tolerance, and motivational interviewing to help clients clarify what matters most to them and build internal motivation that does not depend on urgency or fear.
