About David Routly, LPC — Online Therapist in Georgia Specializing in Addiction, ADHD & Trauma
For more than two decades, I've had the privilege of sitting with people in some of their most difficult moments — and watching them discover that they are far more capable than they believed.
My work centers on three areas where people often feel most misunderstood: addiction and dual diagnosis, ADHD and anxiety, and trauma, especially religious trauma or spiritual deconstruction. These aren't just clinical categories to me — they're experiences that carry real weight, real stigma, and real complexity. My clients deserve a therapist who takes that seriously.
My approach is collaborative and exploratory. I don't arrive with a fixed agenda. Instead, we work together to understand what's actually happening beneath the surface — what's driving the patterns, the pain, or the stuckness — and then we build a path forward that fits your life, not a textbook. I draw on CBT, DBT, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based tools, choosing what fits the moment rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method.
If you're struggling with addiction or managing both a mental health condition and substance use, I can help you find sustainable strategies that go beyond just stopping — and address what's underneath. If anxiety or ADHD is making it hard to function or find peace, we'll work on real, practical skills alongside deeper self-understanding. And if your relationship with faith has shifted, fractured, or fallen apart, you'll find in me a therapist who approaches that journey with curiosity and without judgment.
Recovery is possible. Growth is possible. You don't have to have it figured out to begin. I offer a free consultation — reach out, and let's see if we're a good fit.
