About my Work in Georgia

Georgia is home. Whether you're navigating the pressures of Atlanta's fast-moving professional culture, the quiet isolation of rural South Georgia, or anything in between, life can feel overwhelming — and finding the right therapist who actually gets your world matters. I offer secure video therapy to adults throughout Georgia, from Savannah to Rome, from the mountains of North Georgia to the Golden Isles.

I work with clients across Georgia — metro Atlanta and the surrounding counties, Savannah and the coast, Augusta, Columbus, Macon, and the rural communities in between, where the nearest therapist who takes your insurance can be an hour's drive. Teletherapy removes the distance. Whether your world is fast-moving or far from a major city, the work we do together stays the same: honest, practical, and built around your actual life.

About Me

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with 21 years of experience, licensed in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Vermont, and New Hampshire, and practicing in Ohio and Minnesota through the Counseling Compact. I'm board certified in telemental health (BC-TMH), certified as an ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP), and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in Georgia — which means part of my work is training and overseeing other therapists.

What I care about more than any of that is whether you feel safe enough to be honest, and whether the work is actually useful to you.

I'm trained in a range of approaches — cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and EMDR. I think of those as tools rather than a method I run people through. Which ones we use depends on you and what you're working on. Some people want structure and something to practice between sessions. Others need to think out loud with someone who knows what to listen for. Often it's both, at different points.

What stays constant is that we go at your pace, you decide what we work on, and nothing happens because it was next in a sequence.

Understanding the Georgia Context

I've called Georgia home for more than 25 years. I know the energy of Atlanta — the traffic, the ambition, the way busyness becomes a default setting — and I work with a lot of clients for whom that pace is both the source of their success and the engine of their exhaustion. For adults with ADHD, that environment can be particularly relentless: the demands are constant, the margin for error feels thin, and the gap between how capable you know you are and how you're actually functioning can be genuinely demoralizing. I work with a lot of clients who came to therapy thinking they had an anxiety problem and discovered ADHD was underneath it the whole time.

I also work with students at Georgia's major universities — UGA, Georgia Tech, Emory, Georgia State, and others — navigating the specific pressure of high-stakes academic environments while often being far from home. ADHD and anxiety are among the most common and most underidentified struggles in that population, and campus counseling centers rarely have the capacity to provide the kind of consistent, ongoing support that actually makes a difference.

Georgia also has a deep and complicated religious culture, and faith shapes the lives of a lot of people here in ways that don't always get acknowledged in therapy. For some clients, faith is a genuine source of strength that I'm glad to work alongside. For others, the picture is more complicated — a religious upbringing that carried real harm alongside real meaning, beliefs that no longer fit but feel impossible to set down, or a faith community that became a source of shame, control, or loss. If you're somewhere in that territory — questioning, hurting, grieving, or just trying to figure out who you are outside of a belief system that defined you — this is a space where that conversation is welcome. I understand Southern religious culture from the inside, and I won't minimize what you've experienced or rush you toward any particular conclusion about where you land.
